William David Grassel, 53, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Columbus on February 29, 2024.
He was born March 06, 1970. David grew up on a small farm near Bellville, Ohio. He graduated from Clear Fork Valley High School and Ohio State University.
Growing up, he was active in baseball, swimming and golf.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed catch and release fishing.
David lived most of his life in Columbus and worked as an installer of office renovations. He, also, spent a few years in Colorado.
Grilling on his smoker, he was a grill chef cooking up tasty meals throughout the year.
David was a huge fan of Ohio State Football, Cincinnati Bengals and Reds and rarely missed a football game on TV.
He will be remembered for his quick easy smile, laughter, fun stories and generosity.
David lived life on his own terms.
He is survived by his mother Sylvia(Sue) Wolff, step-father John Wolff, sister Michelle(Tom) Weirich, nephews Brandon and Sean (Katherine) Weirich, great nieces Kelly Merrill and Sophie Weirich, great-nephew Luke Weirich and special aunt Susie (Dave) Ferguson and aunts Jody Bisel, Kathy Wolf, uncles Tony (Anna), Jeffrey (Mary) and Terry (Danita) Rickett and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by father Dennis Grassel and grandparents Robert and Alice Rickett and Ester and William Brubach.
Private graveside services will be in Mansfield Cemetery at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
