MANSFIELD — Noah Bolen is a self-described “grandma’s boy.”

He shared a birthday with his paternal grandmother Marta Bolen and spent the last six months of his maternal grandmother’s life as her caretaker.

“I not only have a passion for taking care of seniors and veterans, but it’s also something that’s close to my heart,” Bolen said. “Both of my grandparents were veterans.

“My grandfather Glenn Hawley actually owned Buffalo Wings and Rings in Mansfield and ran that in the ’90s. He was my superhero for the first 20 years of my life. Since he’s left, he’s still one of my heroes. I see him in every veteran that I’ve helped.”

Bolen celebrated the grand opening of Cornerstone Caregiving of Mansfield with his staff members on Friday. The in-home personal care service helps seniors and veterans with housework, transportation, bathing and incontinence care.

“We provide transportation for errands and doctors appointments,” Bolen said. “We’re not nurses, but we can help with bathing, dressing and memory care. Everything is customized to what the clients need.”

The director of operations for the Mansfield location said Cornerstone has more than 100 caregivers in north central Ohio. The team serves Richland, Ashland, Crawford, Knox, Morrow and southern Huron counties.

“Anyone that calls and needs help, we’re happy to serve,” Bolen said. “We get quite a few referrals from Veterans Affairs and a few retirement communities around the area.

“Our staff goes into people’s homes who don’t have help, or who need a little more help than what they currently have. We also provide care to assisted living and independent living facilities if they’re understaffed.”

Bolen previously worked with the Ohio Council for Home Care & Hospice. He said Cornerstone Caregiving has more than 60 local clients since it opened in September.

“We are providing over 900 hours of care on a weekly basis to seniors and veterans and I’m excited to provide even more care,” he said.

“When you call or text us, you always reach a manager on-duty. Our staff members are trained in Alzheimer’s and dementia care, and we look forward to helping people continue independent living in the comfort of their homes.”

The local Cornerstone Caregiving office is located in suite 2 of the 380 Cline Ave. complex. Cornerstone’s phone number is 567-345-6507. Managers offer 24/7 on-call support to all phone calls and text messages.
