Karen Jean Rhea, age 72, passed away Thursday morning, February 1, 2024, at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby, Ohio.
Born October 22, 1951, in Galion, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Arlene (Campbell) and Charles Ross Farnsworth. Karen worked at Bell Telephone for many years and retired after 15 years of service as an accountant at Richland Newhope. She enjoyed fishing and camping with her husband and family. Cookouts were a lively event she thoroughly enjoyed.
Karen is survived by her husband of 23 years, Dennis Rhea; step children, Gene Rhea, Teresa Lapoint, Ben Rhea and Michelle (Ron) Herrell; six grandchildren, Scott (Tammy) Rhea, Heidi (Dave) Knapp, Joanie Lapoint, Joey Lapoint, Ashley Henderson, and Katy Herrell; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Braxton; a sister, Cindy (Bill) Powell; a brother, Randy Farnsworth; and her BFF, Sue Eshbaugh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Farnsworth; and a sister, Judy.
The family welcomes friends to visit from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road.
