ONTARIO — A Mansfield woman was killed and a Lexington man seriously injured Saturday after a three-vehicle crash in Ontario, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Della Bekeleski, 69, of Mansfield, was transported to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital by Springfield Township EMS, but succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by the attending physician, authorities reported.

Lucas Ferguson, 32, of Lexington, was later flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. His condition was unknown at the time of publication.

The crash took place at approximately 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Lexington Springmill Road and Park Avenue West within Ontario’s city limits, according to the Patrol.

The Patrol stated that Bekeleski was driving a 2016 Kia Soul northbound on Lexington Springmill Road. Ferguson was driving westbound on Park Avenue West and was in the process of turning south onto Lexington Springmill.

According to the Patrol, Bekeleski failed to yield to the traffic signal and entered the intersection at a red light when the Kia struck Ferguson’s vehicle in the left side. As the Kia came to a stop it collided with a third vehicle which was driven by Christen Dingess, 54, of Mansfield.

Dingess did not sustain any injuries from this crash.

Ontario Police, Springfield Township Fire and EMS, the Richland County Coroner, and Valley Towing assisted during this crash investigation.

The crash remains under investigation.
