Eugene E. “Butch” Hamilton, 62, of Mansfield passed away May 15, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones.
Butch was born in Mansfield, the oldest of six, on March 5, 1961 to Frank E. Hamilton, Jr. and Evelyn L. (Fairchild) Hamilton. He loved camping, fishing, and going to flea markets. He had a love for music and could play about any instrument, his favorite being the guitar. Butch attended the Mansfield Freewill Baptist Church on Laver Road when he was able.
He is survived by the love of his life for 41 years Geraldine Cox Hamilton; brothers Richard (Bonnie) Hamilton, Charles Hamilton; children Michelle (Gary) Crain, Edna (Chris) Hamilton, Joshua Hamilton, Marty Blackburn; grandchildren whom he adored Justice (Charles) Stevens, Gavin (Jacelynn) Stevens, Jakub Hamilton, Logan Rausch, Izakk and Ilayna Rhodebeck, April Mills, Landen Stamper, Rhyland Morris, Natalie and Jeremy Darbee, and many others that called him grandpa; four great-grandchildren and one due in September; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother David Hamilton; twin sisters Geraldine Jaynes and Terrie Palmer.
Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2-4pm at Herlihy Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West. A funeral service will be held 1pm Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Josh Workman officiating. Burial to follow at Lantz Cemetery.
