BAUGHMAN TOWNSHIP — An Orrville man was killed and four others hurt in a three-vehicle crash on Saturday night, according to the Wooster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Tyler Robert Lewis, 26, of Orrville, was killed in the crash, the Patrol reported.

The incident took place at 10:30 p.m. on State Route 57 north of the city of Orrville. Troopers arrived on scene near Milepost 7, just north of Fulton Road.

The investigation revealed a gray 2007 Toyota Camry was southbound on SR 57 driven by Lewis. A gray 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup was northbound driven by Sylvia Harrold, 19, of Apple Creek. A gray 2016 Kia Forte sedan was southbound behind the Toyota, driven by Jackson Malicki, 38, of Orrville.

Troopers determined the southbound Toyota traveled left of center, struck the Dodge head-on in the northbound lane, rotated back into the southbound lane, and was struck head-on by the Kia. After impact with the Toyota, the Dodge overturned, traveled off the east side of the road and struck a traffic sign. The Kia and the Toyota came to rest in the road.

Lewis, the at-fault driver of the Toyota was not seat-belted, was ejected from his vehicle, and was killed in the crash. Harrold, the seat-belted driver of the Dodge, was transported to Aultman Orrville Hospital for severe injuries. Makayla Wickens, 19, Apple Creek was the seat-belted right front passenger of the Dodge and was transported to Aultman Orrville Hospital for minor injuries. Malicki, the seat-belted driver of the Kia was transported to Aultman Orrville Hospital for minor injuries, along with his juvenile passenger.

The events that led to the crash, including whether Lewis was impaired by drugs or alcohol prior to the crash, remain under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Orrville Fire and EMS, and the Wayne County Coroner’s Office.
