MANSFIELD – Making a dream a reality is a wonderful feeling for anyone who has had a dream for 30 years.

Rashida Rawls, founder of Ra Communications LLC and published author, is an inspiration and an example that anything is possible. Now her debut children’s book is featured in the local authors section of the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library.

Rashida Rawls

“The Legend of the White Dove” is a personal journey for Rawls. As a child, she wrote this book in less than a week because of a dream she continued to have. She won an award for her 5th grade entry and believed her dream wanted others to pursue their dreams despite any challenges they may face.

“I believe I was supposed to share this story with the world, as a reminder to humanity that we are not alone, we have each other,” Rawls said. “After 30 years, a dream became a reality.

“I am grateful for everyone who encouraged me on the journey.”

Rawls demonstrates a growth mindset in her own life and now being a published author is another check off of her list. Although it took 30 years for her to get the story of Amy to come alive, she never gave up.
