Kenneth Edward Sauder, age 90, of Mansfield passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 15, 1931 in Mansfield, Ohio. Ken was the son of William and Mary (Fuhrer) Sauder.
Ken cherished his walk with the Lord and was baptized on March 27, 1954, almost 67 years ago. At the age of 30, he was called into the ministry and served for 38 years at the Apostolic Christian Church on Illinois Avenue.
Ken was gifted in working with his hands and could always make something out of nothing. One of his greatest joys was helping his family and others.
Time with family was always a priority for Ken and his deceased wife Suzanne (Edmondson) of 65 years. Ken leaves behind his sons Bill (Becky) Sauder of Fredericktown, Dan (Pam) Sauder of Mansfield, Steve (Lori) Sauder of Mansfield, Dave (Joy) Sauder of Mansfield, Scott (Julie) Sauder of Lucas, Mark (JoAnn) Sauder of Lucas and Sam (Angel) Sauder of Shelby; daughter Julie (John) Grimm of Plain City; 30 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; brother Donald (Faye) Sauder of Lucas; brothers-in-law David Edmondson of Perrysville and Weldon (Pud) Edmondson of Loudonville; sisters-in-law, Caroline Sauder of Lucas and Sharyn (Art) Hoffman of Lucas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife Suzanne, he was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and five sisters; great-grandchildren including Austin Pfeiffer.
His family would like to extend a special thank you to OhioHealth Hospice for making his final days comfortable.
Friends and family may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Mansfield Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 87 N. Illinois Ave. An additional hour of calling will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 AM again on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Illinois Avenue with the funeral service beginning at 10:30 AM. The service will be conducted by the Apostolic Christian Church. Ken will be laid to rest with his wife in Lantz Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Church (84 Illinois Ave North, Mansfield, Ohio 44905) or Lantz Cemetery (in care of: Marvin Beer 1572 McElroy Road, Mansfield 44905).
