Kenneth Gabor, 91, of Mansfield passed away Jan. 30, 2022 at his home.
Ken was born January 15, 1931 in Mansfield to George and Anna Gross Gabor. He was a 1950 graduate of Springfield Twp. High School and then served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Ken was the owner of Leo Stuhldreher’s Greenhouse & Florist and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Mansfield Elks, Amvets, and VFW.
Ken enjoyed cooking many Friday night meals and fish fry’s at the Ontario VFW. He enjoyed playing Euchre and hanging out with his friends. Ken also spent many summers at Lake Erie boating and fishing, but he mostly treasured the times with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children Mike Gabor, Sue (Dave) Scheurer all of Mansfield; grandchildren Patrick (Emily) Scheurer, Sarah (Sean) Kelbach; great-granddaughter Adeline; siblings Dale Gabor, George (Wanda) Gabor, Elaine (Robert) Hurlburt, Kathleen McBride; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia and a sister Adeline Reinoehl.
Friends may visit the family on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 60 S. Mulberry Street. A Funeral Mass will then be celebrated at 11 a.m. followed by military honors provided by the Richland County Joint Veteran’s Burial Detail. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
