MANSFIELD — The Crawford Park District program has announced a couple of events that will take place over the next three weekends.

Rock Tumbling

Saturday, Jan. 15 & 29 from 10 a.m. to noon Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 State Route 598.

Crawford Park District program participants will learn about rock tumbling equipment and the process of tumbling rocks. We will start a rock tumbler with rough stone and go through all four polishing stages to create beautiful, polished rocks. Volunteer Bryan Summer will lead this rockin’ program. The first session will start the rough tumbling process; Session 2 will finish with the polish tumble.

Tumbled rocks

A one-hour multimedia lesson will be part of this hands-on activity. Please plan on attending both sessions. Call the Park District at 419- 683-9000 to register. Walk-ins are still welcome. Lowe-Volk Park is located 3 miles north of US Route 30. Snowy Owls

Monday, Jan. 17 at 4 p.m. Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 State Route 598.

Snowy Owls often migrate from their summer homes in the Arctic to Ohio during winter months, even to Crawford County.

Join Crawford Park Naturalist Chelsea for an interactive presentation all about Snowy Owls, learning their life history and the best places to find one this winter.
