ONTARIO — An Ontario man faces five felony counts after a raid on his residence, according to a press release from the METRICH drug task force.
Authorities said Christopher Ball, 33, is charged with a second-degree felony of trafficking in cocaine, a second-degree possession of cocaine and three fifth-degree counts of trafficking in cocaine after a raid Friday netted guns, cash and suspected drugs.
Reportedly, detectives from the METRICH drug task force, along with Ontario Police and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant on Ball’s residence at 40 Clare Road in Ontario.
During the search, detectives said they seized approximately 22.5 grams of suspected cocaine, suspected heroin and marijuana along with assorted drug-related paraphernalia. In addition, two handguns, including a Hi-Point 9 mm semi automatic and a Taurus revolver and ammunition were discovered.
Authorities said they also seized $6,394 in U.S. currency.
METRICH Sgt. Steve Blust stated this was a direct result of cooperation among Richland county Law Enforcement agencies and tips received from the community.
The METRICH Enforcement Unit will continue to seek those that pollute our streets with narcotics and Sgt. Blust encourages all citizens to continue reporting suspected drug activity.
