MANSFIELD – The ParaPro Assessment is a general aptitude test that is required in many states for paraprofessional certification. It also offers school districts an objective assessment of a paraprofessional prospect’s foundation of knowledge and skills.
The ParaPro Assessment measures the reading, writing and basic math competencies of practicing and prospective paraprofessionals. In accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act, the ParaPro Assessment can be used to certify teacher’s aides and assistants in the instruction of these subjects to school children.
The test has 90 multiple-choice questions, approximately two-thirds of which focus on basic skills and knowledge. The remaining one-third focus on applying skills in the classroom. All test questions are in English.
Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center is offering a testing center for the ParaPro Assessment, which will occur each Wednesday starting in January 2022. Testing times are 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. Email parapro@moesc.net to make an appointment or with any other inquiries. The cost for the test is $75, and is payable by cash or credit card.
Payment is not refundable but the appointment time may be changed within 72 hours notice.
