SALINEVILLE — Plymouth was an underdog that didn’t play like one on Saturday night. But in the end the 10th-seeded Big Red fell at Salineville Southern Local 36-24 in the Division VII, Region 25 postseason lidlifter.

Neither side could break ahead as the two teams began in a tense 6-6 duel in the first quarter. The Indians’ offense moved to a 12-6 lead over the Big Red at the intermission.

Southern Local created a spread with a couple of scores in the third period to make it 28-12. Yet the Big Red hung tough and tacked on a couple of scores in the fourth quarter to keep it close.

Seventh-seeded Salineville Southern improved its record to 7-4 after avenging a 28-12 loss to Plymouth in Week 3.

The Big Red finished the season 5-5 after winning two of their final three regular season games.
