• The original Bishop farmhouse from the postcard discussed in last week’s History Knox column.

  • This early twentieth century property map shows the Bishop farm on Mount Gilead Road (also known during part of that period as Chesterville Road), west of Fredericktown.

  • Before the Bishops bought the farm, the land was owned by an “L. Wright,” as seen on this 1896 Knox County atlas image.

  • The Dumbaugh family bought the house around 1980 and it has stayed in their family since then. This is the house today.
