You may have noticed over the past several months that Richland Source has ramped up its focus on outdoor news.

This goes beyond the regular stories we’ve frequently turned at Malabar Farm or various Mohican sites.

North central Ohio residents are avidly climbing, boating, hunting, and fishing and much more in the great outdoors. In our continuing quest to bring readers interesting and relevant information, we’re launching a new outdoor section.

We’ve already shared a bevy of content from our own writers, including mountain climber Adam Fox, as well as items from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Ohio Division of Wildlife.

That doesn’t take into account the camping, biking and canoeing activities that our reporters, like our readers, enjoy every summer, too. Frequently that leads to a column or two as well.

The parks in our region are known for great swimming and boating opportunities at Pleasant Hill and even sailing at Clear Fork and fishing at Charles Mill Lake.

As we swing toward fall, deer hunting season will get more attention.

We wanted to collect this type of information in one spot for easy access to those most interested.

We’ll continue to examine how best to enhance this section going forward.

In the meantime, enjoy all the great outdoor activities north central Ohio has to offer, and let us know if you see something we should look into to make this section even better going forward.
