MANSFIELD – The Richland Public Health Department has released this week’s updated data from the Ohio Department o health.

The U.S. and Global data is from Johns Hopkins.

Richland County has 8,281 confirmed positive pandemic cases with 2,736 probable cases for a total of 11,017 cumulative cases. There have been 598 hospitalizations with 18 current (per OHA). There have been 211 confirmed pandemic deaths, while 10,399 people on the cumulative list have recovered. Ten variant cases of coronavirus have been detected.

OHIO has 885,361 confirmed positive pandemic cases with 164,751 probable cases for 1,050,112 total cases with 18,989 pandemic deaths. There are or have been 54,787 individuals hospitalized in Ohio with 7,619 ICU admissions. Ohio’s presumed-recovered count is 991,725.

The U.S. has 31,500,848 cumulative pandemic cases in all 50 states and five jurisdictions; 565,435 pandemic deaths; U.S. Recovered Cases: 24,771,510 (from worldometer).

Global cumulative pandemic cases: 139,274,615 cases; 2,990,420 pandemic deaths; Global Recovered Cases: 79,383,951.

March 4: Ohio Governor DeWine announces all COVID-19 restrictions will be lifted when Ohio gets to 50 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population for a two week period.

March 25: Richland Public Health begins vaccinating all ages 18 and older

April 1: Cases begin showing an uptick again as COVID-19 variants are detected.

April 13: A pause is put on one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine (RPH uses Moderna).

RICHLAND COUNTY COVID-19 GUIDELINES

Richland County residents should follow the recommended guidelines to reduce the spread of the pandemic:

Get COVID-19 Vaccinated from any Richland County provider

Wear a face covering (cloth mask) if you must be out in the public.

Must wear a face covering (cloth mask) when entering a retail business or grocery

Maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet from non-household members.

Follow good hygiene standards, including:

Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Use hand sanitizer frequently.

Avoid touching your face.

Cover coughs or sneezes (e.g., into a tissue, or elbow).

Symptom self-evaluation monitoring.

Decrease in-person interactions with others.

Conduct a daily health/symptom self-evaluation and stay at home if symptomatic.
