MANSFIELD – The Richland County Regional Planning Commission is updating is Public Involvement Plan and is seeking feedback on it. The plan can be found on RCRPC.org or through RCRPC’s social media platforms.
The Public Involvement Plan sets goals and guidelines for RCRPC to follow when performing public outreach for updating existing or creating new plans. This plan ensures that people get a fair and equal chance to voice concerns/support about projects happening in Richland County.
“The Public Involvement Plan makes sure that citizens of Richland County get ample opportunity to voice their opinion on what is taking place in their county,” said Nick Leturgey, Transportation Planner for RCRPC. “It is an important plan that sets the path we as an organization take while we are updating other plans like the Long Range Transportation Plan.”
The plan will be posted for comment from Feb. 8 until March 26.
This is in line with the FHWA requirement of a 45-day public input period. People can choose to take part in a survey about the goals in the plan or they can submit public comment on the plan at rcrpc.org.
The plan is to be updated within five years of its last update, but this update is being done because the public input process has needed to change due to COVID-19. RCRPC has had to adapt to more technology-based means to collect public input, along with many other places that are also switching to online-based interactions.
The plan can be found at https://www.rcrpc.org/ or on RCRPC’s Facebook or Twitter accounts.
