“We are asking that motorists find alternative routes and try to avoid traveling in this area for the next few hours,” Mansfield Police Capt. Shari Robertson said. “Any additional information will be released at a later date.”
Police said the preliminary investigation indicates the Jeep traveled into the path of the dump truck which then struck the driver’s side of the Jeep. A crash reconstructionist from the Mansfield Police Traffic Section was summoned to the scene and assisted by the Mansfield Police Department’s Un-manned Aerial System (UAS/DRONE) and the Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
