Donald Garrison Memorial Scholarship

Don Garrison, owner and operator of Trac-Line Farm Equipment, died suddenly in 1994.

Don was very supportive of the Richland County Junior Fair and believed that the young people who exhibit in the Junior Fair were our future leaders. A $500 scholarship is given by the friends and family of Don Garrison to a Junior Fair Exhibitor who has a) demonstrated outstanding leadership in the Junior Fair program, b) is a current Junior Fair exhibitor, and c) will seek higher education at a college, university or technical school this fall.

Lonnie McFarland Memorial Scholarship

Lonnie McFarland was a true friend to 4-H and FFA members. He loved the county fair … Not only for the excitement of showing animals and the livestock sale, but for the opportunity it gave kids to be successful with their projects. He believed in the “fun” of the fair, plus the time spent with new and renewed friendships. A $500 scholarship has been made available by his former wife, Paulette, and his daughter, Amy McFarland. Recipients must be a:

a) 2018 high school graduate.

b) college freshman in this fall.

c) 4-H and/or FFA member.

d) livestock exhibitor in the 2018 Richland County Junior Fair program.

*** $500 scholarship recipient: Sierra Schaffer.

Outstanding Junior Fair Board Member (Meet contract criteria + superior service)

– cooperation with other board members

– positive attitude about self and Junior Fair Board experience

– completion of Junior Fair Board department assignments

– works outside of department to make Junior Fair program successful

– completed all aspects of Junior Fair Board contract and commitments
