MANSFIELD — Most taxpayers by now know the new 2019 filing deadline is July 15. In our attempt to keep everyone safe and comply with Covid-19 safety and spacing Guidelines, some changes are necessary.
In the past, in the days prior to the tax filing deadline, the lobby and office areas of the city income tax Office are packed with last-minute filers with questions about forms, dates, etc. This year, we cannot accommodate filers in this manner.
Considering our limited space for the public and single-point access to the income tax department, we will be unable to provide “face-to-face” assistance this year.
However, in an effort to assist filers with a similar level of service, we have extended our hours to assist with questions via the telephone.
To enhance taxpayer assistance, we have extended our telephone support hours on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. through July 15, not including holidays.
We ask that you please plan ahead and be patient as we anticipate high call volumes.
Taxpayers may call (419-755-9711) with questions about completing their Mansfield Tax Return, eFiling or the interactive return with automatic calculations located on the City of Mansfield website.
We also have several methods you may use to file your taxes:
Use the City of Mansfield website and click on the “E File/Tax Form” box located on the left side of the screen.
There you will find several filing options including: electronic filing, the interactive tax Form that you enter the information and it automatically does the calculations and then print and mail, and paper forms, many of which can be filled in or downloaded for printing, as well as detailed instructions.
Taxpayers can also find forms, instructions and a 24-hour drop box located on the first floor of the City building, 30 N. Diamond St., inside the police entrance and to the right of the elevator and inside the second-floor security entrance off Park Avenue.
Need to pay your taxes:
We have payment options available 24 hours a day by calling (419-755-9711) and following the prompts/instructions; you can also pay on-line by clicking the “pay taxes” link on the website, or by dropping off forms and/or payments at the 24-hour drop box noted above.
Of course, you can also simply mail your tax forms and payments with a check or money order made out to the “City of Mansfield” with information indicating for who and what the payment is for to:
City of Mansfield Income Tax P.O. Box 577-with payment; P.O. Box 607-no payment Mansfield, Ohio, 44901
Signed returns without payment required including required documentation may be faxed to (419-755-9751) or emailed to tax@ci.mansfield.oh.us.
