LEXINGTON — The Village of Lexington and the Lexington Blueberry Festival committee have announced the 2020 Blueberry Festival and all activities associated with this event have been canceled.

“Our committee along with local and state authorities have been monitoring the Covid 19 pandemic and with the uncertainty of these times we feel it is in the best interest for the health and safety of our vendors and patrons that the event be put on hiatus until conditions improve,” the committee announced in a press release.

“Plans are already underway to make the 2021 festival bigger and better than ever before with many new entertainment options and attractions.”

The 2019 Miss Blueberry Pageant winners will continue to represent the Festival for another year of service and a new winner will be crowned in 2021.

The dates for next year’s Blueberry Festival will be Aug. 19 to 22. All scheduled 2020 vendors will have first right of refusal on their space for 2021.

“The staff will miss seeing all of you this August but hope to make next years event the social gathering we have all grown to love,” the Lexington Blueberry Festival Committee stated.
