BELLVILLE — With craft beer, live music and freshly baked cheesecake, the Clear Fork Valley Foundation is hoping to make a big impression this weekend.
“The main purpose of it is just to spread awareness of the Clear Fork Valley Foundation,” said Judy Golden, a board member and English teacher at Clear Fork High School.
Every year, the foundation distributes about 20 scholarships to graduating seniors at Clear Fork High School, as well as 10 “leadership by example” scholarships to middle school students. The Paul and Agnes Spayde scholarship goes to a Clear Fork alumni or current teacher pursuing continuing education, a master’s degree or an additional licensure in the K-12 education field.
The Arctic Blast fundraiser will take place Saturday, Feb. 29 at The Legacy on Possum Run. Doors open at 7 p.m. The laidback fundraiser will be centered around sipping, sampling and socializing.
For a $20 admission fee, guests will receive a souvenir tasting glass and five tickets that can be used for drinks, food and raffle items. Additional tickets will be sold for one dollar each.
The Phoenix Brewing Company will offer assorted craft beers. Food will be catered by Fast Eddie’s Pizza, with dessert from Wishmaker House and Bent Spoons Bakery. Coffee and soft drinks will also be available.
The event will also feature a raffle, silent auction and music performed by Clear Fork alumnus Clint Knight.
The fundraiser has received plenty of support from the local business community. Area enterprises including Elzy Milling & Trade, Bellville Car Wash, Der Dutchman, First Knox National Bank, Pleasant Hill Golf Course, Deer Ridge Golf Course, Smith True Value Hardware and River Rock Sports Bar have donated raffle and auction items.
Golden said the foundation is still accepting gift baskets. Advance tickets are available by contacting a board member or messaging the group’s Facebook page. Tickets will also be available at the door.
