MANSFIELD — The Richland County Sheriff’s Office honored sworn officers and civilians at its recent 2019 awards banquet.
Those honored were nominated by their peers for their work ethic and contributions to Richland County residents, the sheriff’s department said.
Deputy Josh Dawson was selected Deputy of the Year. Sgt. James Berry was chosen Deputy Supervisor of the Year. Corrections officer Brian Smiley was honored as Corrections Officer of the Year.
Also, Lt. Katina Douglas was chosen Corrections Supervisor of the Year, Melissa Wilson was Civilian of the Year and Det. Pat Smith was Detective of the Year.
Also, Jaime Lucas was selected Dispatcher of the Year. Anne Strouth was chosen Special Deputy of the Year. Jayme Kilgore was awarded Mounted Deputy of the Year. Duane Kilgore and Joe Lewis were honored retirees.
“All of our employees do great work every day. The employees being recognized go above and beyond,” Maj. Joe Masi said, “doing outstanding work and exhibiting professionalism among their peers and their interactions with the public.”
