MANSFIELD — The Mansfield City Schools Board of Education voted to terminate employees Tuesday night following an executive session at the district’s regular meeting.
The board voted to terminate Kristy Diaz, Brandon Hensley, Connie Burrows and Bryan Scott Toney. Each of the four votes were unanimous, although board member Gary Feagin abstained from the vote on Toney.
No reason was given by the board, nor the teacher’s union.
Renda Cline, president of the board declined to comment on the votes.
Mansfield Schools Education Association President Brad Strong said this was the first time he remembered four educators being let go in one evening. He said the reasons for termination were not connected.
“This is just sort of a perfect storm for all of the investigations coming to a head,” Strong said.
The educators have the right to be represented by the MSEA and have been put on unpaid administrative leave, Strong said. He declined to speak further about the decisions.
