OLIVESBURG — Hillsdale quarterback Caden Mutchler overcame an early pick-six to fire three TD passes and the Falcons rolled over Crestview 33-14 on Friday night.
Evan Hamilton intercepted a pass in the first minute of the game and returned it 43 yards to give the Cougars a quick, 7-0 edge. But Mutchler rebounded to toss a 57-yard touchdown pass to Ty Williams in the first quarter to close the gap to 7-6.
Mutchler’s 44-yard TD strike to Colt Bishop in the second period gave the Falcons a 12-7 halftime advantage. A third touchdown pass in the third quarter, of 18 yards to Justin Ziegler, made it 19-7 heading to the final 12 minutes.
Williams tacked on a 3-yard scoring blast and Brandon Reardon added a 10-yard touchdown dash.
Crestview’s Chase Shiffel plunged in from a yard away at the 2:25 mark to finish the scoring.
The Falcons are 2-0, while Crestview drops to 1-1.
