LOUDONVILLE — A tight duel that rolled undecided deep into the fourth quarter turned for good on a late, but spectacular play.

Crestview’s Evan Hamilton hauled in a 78-yard TD pass from Ross Kuhn with just over four minutes remaining to lift the Cougars past Loudonville 9-7 in the season opener for both schools on Friday night.

The Redbirds broke on top 7-0 in the second period on a 10-yard touchdown dash by Gavin Davis. The Cougars closed to within 7-3 on Levi Kibler’s 40-yard field goal in the final 30 seconds of the period.
