MANSFIELD — Infants, children and adults are eligible for immunizations in August at Richland County Public Health’s Neighborhood Immunizataion Clinics

The Richland County Public Health Clinic has announced dates for immunizations and free community health screenings throughout the month of August.

“Especially for people without a primary health care provider or for people who only see a doctor once or twice a year, it’s important to have a screening on a regular basis,” said Reed Richmond, spokesmen for Richland County Public Health.

The screenings will include a free blood pressure reading, free blood sugar check (a three-hour fast is recommended) free Anemia check (hemoglobin and hematocrit) free education and referrals. A $12 cholresterol check is also available and a nine-12 hour fast is required.

For immunizations, children must be accompanied by an adult/guardian and need an up-to-date shot record and insurance card at time of service. Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care are accepted; most private insurance companies will be billed.

Contact the public health clinic for pricing for children and adult vaccines. Richland County Public Health participates in the federally-funded “Vaccines for Children” program. No child is denied vaccines due to inability to pay. Donations are accepted.
