MANSFIELD — Mansfielders who tuned in their radio dials Monday, May 6 for the WMAN Morning show with Rusty Cates instead heard “This Morning with Gordon Deal.”
Margie Tasseff, Market president for the Ashland Mansfield iHeartMedia Markets Group, confirmed Monday morning that the station, which went live in Mansfield December, 1939, has changed its programming. The station has added the Gordon Deal show, which provides news and business updates from the United States and around the world.
“From time to time, we review our programming and have to make adjustments,” Tasseff said.
Tasseff declined to comment further on Cates’ show or his employment status, noting it was a personnel matter. When reached at his mobile number, Cates also declined comment.
Tasseff told Richland Source the station remains committed to providing local news and sports coverage. This will be provided by Aaron Hines and Randy Bigley throughout the morning, she said, but didn’t specify a time.
“We look forward to continuing our commitment to bring (listeners) the most up-to-date local news and local sports and covering the Mansfield community,” Tasseff said.
She also confirmed that listeners would still be able to tune in for “favorites” like Rush Limbaugh.
