BUCYRUS — A 19-year-old Melmore man was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after a Tuesday morning crash, according to the Bucyrus Police Department.
Officers were called to the scene at the 600 block of Whetstone Street at approximately 5:25 a.m. Upon arrival, Gillis Riedel was arrested after crashing his vehicle into a utility pole. Police say he also faces drug charges for possession of suspected acid, prescription medications, steroids and other drug-related evidence.
American Electric Power was also called to the scene on Tuesday morning to repair the utility pole.

4:17 p.m. A report of unwanted telephone calls was taken in the 900 block of Faustina Av.
4:24 p.m. An emergency medical call was taken in the 500 block of Hill St.
7:09 p.m. A parking complaint was investigated in the 100 block of W. Liberty St. The vehicle was moved.
8:45 p.m. A civil protection order violation was investigated in the 100 block of Washington Square.
8:57 p.m. A welfare check was requested in the 100 block of W. Liberty St. It was a verbal domestic argument that was mediated.
9:55 p.m. Officers assisted with a vehicle lockout in the 200 block of Grace St.
Tuesday, April 30
1:15 a.m. A resident at Indian Creek requested officers check around her apartment after advising that someone was shining lights through her windows.
2:47 a.m. Officers stopped with State Trooper on a traffic stop in the area of Washington Square.
6:21 a.m. 14-year-old Tanner Dye was reported as a runaway.
