MANSFIELD – School may be out for summer, but the fun is just beginning here at Richland Academy; we have an exciting summer line-up of classes beginning in June!
We are excited to announce Richland Academy’s Little Black Box Theatre. Perfect for the beginning actor! The goal of our program is designed to guide a child to self-fulfillment through the process of theatre techniques, rather than an attempt to create professional child actors. We will introduce theatre through creative dramatics by creating an environment where youngsters can feel comfortable to work creatively and think critically.
For students 4-6 we will offer Beginning Theatre for Little Ones where we explore the songs and poems of Mother Goose. For 7-9 year olds we offer ACT 2: Drama for Children. In this class students will work on creating an ensemble, understanding movement and space, character development, utilizing voice, listening/reacting, and stage directions and blocking. At the end of the class we will put it all together in our songs and scenes production of We Are Monsters.
Get up and get moving in our “ZOMBIES” Jazz and Hip Hop Camp – a dance camp where students ages 6 and older can get up and dance their summer break blues away. Whether you like My Little Pony’s, COCO, Superheroes, or Princess’, we have a camp for you! And even little dancers as young as 3 can get into the summer groove in our Ballet Beach Bash dance class, or our Movement & Mats basic tumbling class.
We also continue to offer private music lessons for students of all ages and skill levels. Don’t let your child’s instrument sit in the closet all summer long… Sign up for music lessons today! We teach private one-on-one lessons for beginners through those who are highly advanced. Lessons are offered in voice, piano, guitar, strings, brass and woodwinds. If private lessons aren’t for you, try a group class! We offer Music Together for children from birth to age 5 and their caregivers, or beginning piano in Music for Little Mozarts. Or try a music camps like: POWER ROCK CAMP or Music Builders Camp, all great for beginners!
Do you have a budding artist? We have group art classes for student ages 6 & over. Our younger students will experiment with a variety of different media and will learn concepts such as color theory, fine and gross motor control, and communication of artistic ideas in an easy-going environment that encourages artistic freedom. We also offer classes in Painting and Illustration for children over 11.
