Patricia Ann Chelski, 77, of Mansfield, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday afternoon, April 30, 2018 at her home. She was born Jan. 9, 1941, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Russell O. and Miriam E. (Shultz) Emerson.
The youngest of 11 children, Patricia learned the precious gift of family from the beginning. Her family was most important to her and she treasured the moments spent with each of them.
Patricia was a loving woman who gave abundantly of herself to others. She was the definition of unconditional love and the memories of Patricia will be treasured forever.
In her younger years, she worked as an administrative assistant and sales person in local furniture stores. About 20 years ago, Patricia decided to retire and enjoyed doting on her grandchildren. She was a very active member of Diamond Hill Cathedral.
Patricia is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Bill) Manley and Darla (Robert) Hively, both of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Leesha Newsome, Teddy Newsome, Jerry Hively, Amanda Newsome, David Newsome and Narissa Hively; four great-grandchildren, Natalie, Owen, Addysonn and Hannah; four sisters, Daisy Hardy, of Arizona, Martha Robertson, of Mansfield, Miriam Moore, of Mansfield, and Rhea Hall, of Zanesville; and many, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 12 years, Edward Chelski in 1987; brothers, John Emerson, Robert Emerson and Bill Emerson; sisters, Betty Perry, Mabel Jordan and Gladys Maxhimer; and nephew, Steve Hammond.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Diamond Hill Cathedral, 500 Tingley Avenue, Mansfield. The memorial service will immediately follow at noon with Rev. Mel Schroeder officiating. Private burial will take place in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
