Verta Carol (Mohr) Wurthmann, 74, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 following a brief illness.
Verta was born December 29, 1943 in Brady Lake, Ohio, the daughter of Lewis and Jesse (Jenkins) Mohr.
Verta never met a stranger and when she smiled she lit up the room. She was an avid antique collector and a florist. She loved working in her flower beds and crafting. She enjoyed canning, making jam and baking at Christmas.
Verta is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dale Wurthmann; daughter, Tammy Wurthmann; son, Todd Wurthmann; daughter-in-law, Julie Wurthmann; grandchildren, Tyler Wurthmann and his wife, Savannah Wurthmann, Jordan Wurthmann and his fiancé, Payton Garand; brother, Maynard (Carolyn) Mohr; sisters, Donna Money and Beulah (Jack) Close; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Verta was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Hermann and Byrl Wurthmann; and brother-in-law, Tom Money.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 at the funeral home, with Brother Dan Gates officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
