PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Area Historical Society will reprise its very popular “A Night at the Museum” on Saturday, May 5 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Thirty local actors will bring to life an array of characters throughout Plymouth’s history, spanning the period from 1840 through the late 1960s.

Among those portrayed are a legendary Plymouth police chief, an agent of the Underground Railway, a local couple who defied the dreaded “Black Hand,” Publishers of the Plymouth Advertiser, the owner of a distillery, a blacksmith, a local doctor and his nurse/wife, one of Plymouth’s “Bloomer Girls, ” the leader of Plymouth’s Blackhawk Gang, two local undertakers, a well-known dry goods store owner, the man who designed the first Plymouth locomotive, a local violin- and guitar-maker, and a man who helped drive the first Plymouth automobile to New York City.

Admission is $5 for adults; $3 for patrons 12-18; and children under 12 are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door the evening of the event. The program is part the Rich History Alliance weekend during which museums throughout Richland County will host events and exhibits.
