Steve Jozwiak, Director of Environmental Health, oversees the licensing and inspection program for all food facilities licensed with CCPH. Steve stated to the Board of Health, “Congratulations to all of our winners for their dedication to safe food service. Their attention to food safety greatly aids in the reduction of foodborne illness for those that live, as well as those that travel through, the Crawford County community.”

Food safety is an important public health issue. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that one in every six people in the United States are affected by food-borne illness each year. The Crawford County Food Safety Award winners make a valuable contribution to the prevention of food-borne illness in our community.

The completion of the 2017 food licensing year marked the fifth year CCPH has been recognizing local food operations for exceptional food safety practices. CCPH would like to further acknowledge the following five (5) facilities have consistently received a food safety award all five years:

• Buckeye Central Schools

• Kentucky Fried Chicken (Galion)

• Little Athens

• Walmart

• Wynford Elementary
