BUTLER — Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies have concluded their investigation of a potential threat made in the community Friday, according to Major Joe Masi.
“The information reported to Butler Elementary Officials could not be verified as truthful,” Masi said. “The investigation was prolonged because of false information being reported in social media.”
There are no verifiable or credible threats towards Clear Fork schools or the community based on the information received from officials, he added.
Earlier in the day Clear Fork schools were locked down, and soft lockdowns were reported at Shelby and Pioneer Career and Technology Center. Lexington Schools issued a press release that their buildings were not on lockdown.
