MANSFIELD — The Mansfield Playhouse will present “Greater Tuna,” written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard, produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. beginning Feb. 9.

What do Arles Struvie, Thurston Wheelis, Aunt Pearl, Petey Fisk, Phineas Blye, and Rev. Spikes have in common? In this comedy send-up of small-town morals and mores, they are all among the upstanding citizens of Tuna, Texas’ third-smallest town.

The long-running Off Broadway hit features two actors creating the entire population of Tuna in a tour de farce of quick change artistry, changing costumes and characterizations faster than a jack rabbit runs from a coyote.

Two of the (self-proclaimed) funniest men of Mansfield; actors, Ryan Kiley and Doug Wertz play 20 different characters. Seating is very limited for this show so producers encourage those interested to purchase their tickets early. The production takes place on Second Stage of the Mansfield Playhouse and is directed by Doug Wertz.

Shows take place Feb. 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17 at 8 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now and available by calling the box during regular business hours, Wednesday through Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. or may be purchased on line at www.mansfieldplayhouse.com.
