William David “Dave” Graybeal, 74, of Mansfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018.

Dave was born on Jan. 11, 1943 in Huntington, West Virginia, to Forrest O. and E. Virginia (Brown) Graybeal.

He retired from GM as Quality Control manager, and was owner and operator of Accurate Key and Lock. He was also a CCW Instructor, a little league coach, and a tax consultant. His true love was serving the Lord in his church.

He embodied Titus chapter two into his daily life. He was an active member of Mansfield Baptist Temple and served as Sunday School Superintendent and Director of Door Keepers Security Team for many years.

Dave was a great American, a sailor for his country, a soldier for his Savior, Christ Jesus, and a defender for his beautiful family. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Crisis and Vietnam War.

During his service to his country, he married the love of his life, Janice (Bostic) Graybeal, on June 29, 1961. He was a man who put everyone first, a one of a kind and everyone who met him, knew this instantly.

To his family, he was the center stone, a leader. He brought them up with dignity and character, and taught them that in Christ we could do anything. He was the epitome of a gentleman and made everyone feel special and worthy.

From his playful shoves, to daily visits and phone calls, to hearing him whistle in the background, he never missed a birthday, a soccer game, a play, or family lunch. He thrived when his family was around him. They were his everything.

Our hearts are broken without him here with us. We will continue his legacy; share his testimony as long as we live. We loved him a lot, but God loved him more.

Along with his beautiful wife, Janice, he is survived by two children; Mitzi Irene (Mark) Krull, of Mansfield, and David (Heidi) Graybeal, of Canton; six grandchildren, Brittany Janice (Brody) Rayburn, Benjamin Krull, Kalee (Jeff) Cunningham, Brian Krull, and Riley Graybeal, and Bronson Krull; three great-grandchildren, Bella Jean Rayburn, Benson Rayburn, and Lincoln Cunningham; two siblings, Ralph Graybeal, of Oklahoma, and Billie Sue Graybeal, of West Virginia; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron (Diane) Bostic; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pat (Terry) Burke; and numerous nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Keith David Matheny.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sonya Lynn Graybeal; and two sisters, Jean Hope Fraley and Joyce Matheny.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Mansfield Baptist Temple, 752 N. Stewart Rd, Mansfield and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the church with funeral services following at 10 a.m. Pastor Robert J. Kurtz will officiate.
