James L. Fear Jr, 35, of Mansfield and formerly of Blairsville, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018 in Mansfield.
James was born on Jan. 6, 1983, in Mansfield, to James L. Sr and Sandra G. (Calhoun) Fear. People were drawn to him and to know him was to love him.
He was always the life of the party and the one to be there for anyone in need. He had a special interest in mentoring those who battled drug issues, and was always there to encourage them to get into rehab. He was a master of words and a poet.
He enjoyed writing songs and rapping with friends and family. He loved his little girl more than anything in the world. He enjoyed wrestling in his younger years.
He is survived by his daughter, Loretta Lee Fear, of Pennsylvania; one brother, Lonnie (Tammie) Bullis, of Sandusky; one niece and best friend, Kasey Thompson; four nephews, Lonnie Bullis Jr, Ryan Bullis, Tyler Bullis, and Jonathan Thompson; one uncle, Dennis (Linda) Gorden, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; special step-mom, Patricia Tate, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and two best friends, Jesse and Kyle.
James was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Loretta Gay (Bullis) Thompson; grandmother, Ilene Gordon, grandfather, Charles Calhoun, and grandmother, Princess Calhoun.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, Ohio.
Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Another memorial service will be at a later date in Blairsville, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family to assist with funeral expenses.
