Edith L. Greathouse Hayslip, 90, of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018.

Edith was born April 11, 1927, in Greenup, Kentucky, to Earl and Bessie Greathouse. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, reading, religious crossword puzzles, and worshipping with her church family. She was gracious, kind, generous, and loving to all she met and lived a life of gratitude by sharing with those most in need. Edith attended Abundant Life Tabernacle.

She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Smith, of Columbus, Ohio, and Ellen Owens, of Mansfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Linda Hostettler, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Donald and Karen Hostettler, of Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James S. Hostettler; second husband, Harley E. Hayslip; and six brothers, Elmer “Bud” Greathouse, Raymond Greathouse, Henry Greathouse, Ray Greathouse, Denny Greathouse, and Jimmy Greathouse.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Laudermilk officiating. Edith’s final resting place will be in Mansfield Cemetery, 389 Altamont Ave., Mansfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Abundant Life Tabernacle.
