Margie A. Kalis, 86, of Mansfield passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Margie was born on May 14, 1931 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Clyde Coe and Nina (Ernsberger) Plew.

Margie was a devoted wife, loving mother and the spoiler of her grandchildren. Loving, giving, caring, loyal, fun, wise and generous are just a few words that describe Margie and her strong personality. She was one of the founding members of Diamond Hills Baptist Church, and you would always find Margie actively involved in the church.

She is survived by her daughters, Emily Kiner, Elena Finley, and Karen (Arvel) Mollett, all of Mansfield; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lynda Kalis, of Mansfield; and her loyal pet, Zoey.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Kalis; son, John Kalis; son-in-law, Wayne Kiner; three sisters; three brothers; and a sister-in-law, Chris Boocks.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. Rev. Christopher Thomas will officiate the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diamond Hills Baptist Church, 647 S. Diamond Street Mansfield, OH 44907.
