Cecelia Stober

Cecelia Stober, 97, of Mansfield, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at Crystal Care Center in Mansfield.

Born in Lakewood, Ohio on April 14, 1920, she was the daughter of William and Theresa (Juryica) Farley.

She graduated from New London High School in 1938 and went to work for C.E. Ward Company which manufactured graduation gowns and lodge uniforms.

In 1940 she married her high school sweetheart, Ned Stober, and they moved to Norwalk, Ohio where they both were employed at Norwalk Upholstering. After several years, they moved to Shelby where they formed the Shelby Chair which manufactured sofas and chairs.

They made furniture and real estate their life’s work, having had 33 pieces of real estate, the last and most interesting one was the Spring Mill Furniture Barn which is still operating on State Route 39 North after 50 years of selling quality furniture. The furniture store is now operated by their son, Rodney since the sudden death of Ned in 1977 after suffering a heart attack. 

She is survived by a son, Rodney Stober; five grandchildren; and sisters, Jeannette Ringler, Betty Esch, Florence Burris and Elinor Stockinger. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ned; a son, Richard Stober; brothers, Bill, Jim and Tom Farley; and sisters, Lucille and Eileen.

At her request, there will be no calling hours or services.
