Tara Beaire opened her flower shop in October 1999 in the West Park Shopping Center in Mansfield.

With a formal education in horticulture at Pioneer Career and Technology Center, and an Associate Degree in floral design from Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute, Beaire was well-equipped to start her own floral business.

When it came to opening up shop, Beaire’s grandmother was a major influence. Early on, part of her training took place at Stuhldreher Floral, on 48 W 4th St.

She now owns the 100-year-old building and runs Tara’s Floral Expressions, as well as The Chill – Downtown Ice Cream Parlor, which opened this year, right next door on 46 W 4th St.

As far as staying in business for nearly 20 years, Beaire has had to adapt and grow along with the public’s needs.

“We have grown in all aspects of the floral business, with trained, experienced and educated designers, and the fact that I now own my own building,” Beaire said. “The key to staying in business is being aware of the needs and wants of the public, maintaining a positive attitude, and friendly customer relations.”

Beaire is thrilled to be a part of the downtown action and feels that Tara’s Floral Expressions and The Chill are welcome additions to the Carrousel District in downtown Mansfield.

She encourages local residents to shop small, “because we offer a wide variety of floral needs, gift items, and of course – Ice Cream! Who can resist that?”
