BUCYRUS — The family-owned E&H Hardware Group has reached an agreement to purchase Bucyrus True Value located at 713 S. Sandusky Ave., Bucyrus, according to the company.

Shortly thereafter the store will begin transitioning from True Value to Ace Hardware, ultimately bearing the E&H Ace Hardware name, E&H stated in a press release on Monday.

Bucyrus True Value was purchased by the Campbell family from Gene Bianchi in 1994. Since that time, the family nearly tripled the size of the store and its number of employees. Over the years, all four Campbell children and two grandchildren have worked in the business.

“We want to thank all our past and present employees, as well as our faithful customers that have supported us through the years. It’s been a fun journey but we are excited for the next chapter as the Buehler family takes ownership and continues to improve the business for years to come”, stated current owner Rose Campbell.

Campbell said she’s looking forward to having more time for family and friends, church and community organizations, and traveling.

All employees of Bucyrus True Value will be offered the opportunity to work for E&H Hardware Group in the current location when the ownership changes, the company stated. Additional employees may also be hired. Job postings may be found on indeed.com by searching Ace Hardware.

E&H Ace Hardware said it will continue to offer the wide selection of products and services from the lumber yard, hardware store, and small engine repair shop that will continue to focus on Husqvarna power equipment.

The “True Value Rewards” accounts will be transitioned to the “Ace Rewards” loyalty program and will continue to bring expanded savings to customers. True Value coupons will be accepted for a limited time.

Ship-to-store and same-day pick up will be available for orders placed on acehardware.com.

The hardware will close on Saturday, Dec. 30 and reopen as E&H Ace Hardware on Tuesday, Jan. 2 in order to complete the transfer. Most of the store’s current “house accounts” will be pre-approved for continued use at E&H Ace Hardware; information on this process will be made available to all house accounts in the near future. New applications may also be picked up in store.

Following the transition to E&H Hardware Group, customers will benefit from expanded lawn and garden, new plumbing products, Craftsman tools and power equipment, specialty gift, and an enhanced paint department featuring award winning Valspar and Clark+Kensington paints.

“Rosie and her team have served the customers of Bucyrus for many years. We look forward to joining the local Bucyrus community as we strive to maintain the tradition of a family-owned hardware in the heart of town,” stated Scott Buehler, President and COO of E&H Hardware Group.
