William David Schneider

William David Schneider, 82, passed away, Monday, Oct. 30, 2017 at his daughter’s home in Washington.

He was born on Dec. 8, 1934 in Mansfield, Ohio, the son of John C. and Madalene (Walborn) Schneider. Bill was a lifelong resident of Mansfield prior to moving to Washington in October 2016.

He was a member of the Army National Guard and served as Captain of the Ohio State Reformatory from which he retired. Bill was an avid fisherman and sportsman. Later in life, his favorite past time was sitting on his porch on Touby Road.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Hassinger Schneider; son, Michael (Marcia) Schneider, of Mansfield; daughters, Dana DuPaix, of Texas, and Lori (Bob) Beiker, of Washington; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother John “Jack” Schneider; and a son, Scott Schneider.

Friends may call on Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road. Funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Mark Thomas from Mansfield Alliance Church.

Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive Ashland, Ohio 44805.
