BUCYRUS — Bucyrus police issued a citation and revealed the identity of a man who was killed on Sunday night in a motorcycle crash.

Shannon R. Byrum, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which took place at 7:37 p.m. at the intersection of East Irving and Maple Streets on Sunday night.

According to Bucyrus Police, a 2013 Chrysler 200, driven by Judith M. Haverstein, 77, of Bucyrus, was southbound on Maple Street and pulled out from the stop sign and was struck on the left rear door and quarter panel by Byrum’s 2007 HD Motorcycle. Byrum was traveling westbound on East Irving Street.

Haverstein and her passenger, Ruth Ann Cross, 71, of Bucyrus, were treated for minor injuries. After the initial investigation, Haverstein was issued a citation for failure to yield. The report will be forwarded to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office.

Both vehicles were disabled with heavy damage and towed.

The crash is still under investigation pending test results and results from the Coroner’s Office.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, LifeSupport EMS and Bucyrus Fire and the Crawford County Coroner all responded to the scene.
