DeLee (Garber) McNaul, 96, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, transcended in to Heaven July 2, 2017, from the beautiful and peaceful O’Possum Run Valley-area that she loved.
Born Sept. 14, 1920 near Butler, to D. Lee and Lois (Lemley) Garber; she lived in the Mansfield/Bellville area her entire life.
During her high school years she pridefully played violin in the Mansfield Senior High School Orchestra and the Mansfield All-Girl Orchestra. Throughout her lifetime, her fingers danced on the piano and organ; sharing her fondness of music and singing with her congregation and family.
United in love, she married husband, Dale S. McNaul on April 5, 1941, and they spent a whirlwind 54 years together. She was a devoted wife, consummate homemaker and an extraordinary mother. With kind words, unconditional love and a forgiving heart; her grace and gentle demeanor blessed her beloved family of five generations.
Fortunate to travel world-wide, she visited Italy, France, England and Switzerland seeing places her husband had served during World War II in the 457th Air Squadron. Exploring state-side to see quilts in Williamsburg, viewing the beauty of the Teton Range and cruising the Alaskan Passage were some of her greatest joys!
The most memorable times were spent with her entire family during Cedar Point vacations. Beginning in 1916, it became an annual tradition that spanned a hundred years, after her own parents had first met there.
Deeply-rooted in her Lutheran faith she was an active member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Mansfield and St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bellville. DeLee was involved as a Prayer Chain Coordinator, Sunday School and Vacation Church School teacher, and served on Council of the Home Share Group.
Her genteel spirit, compassionate and prayerful nature, and unwavering kindness leave us all blessed to have known her sweet soul.
Survivors include her devoted daughters, Janet (Ken, deceased) Steele, Marsha (Joseph) Marzetti, Marilyn (Robert, deceased) Baker and Marjorie (Kirby) Terakedis. Adored grandchildren, Wayne (Tami) Camp, Wendy Russell, Mike Camp, Heather (Vince) Gangi, Matthew (Betsy) Terakedis, Holly Marzetti (Laura Parker), David (Amber) Terakedis and KayDee (Jeremy) Perry, 18 of the “greatest” grandchildren and 14 of the “greatest” great grandchildren and loving brother Donovan (Martha) Garber, and endeared nieces and nephews.
Sadly preceded in death by her parents D. Lee and Lois, husband Dale, sister Donna Garber Solar and nephews, Gary Harris and David Garber.
In DeLee’s remembrance, visitation will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017, in St. Paul Lutheran Church (Community Room), 48 Church St., Bellville, from 5 to 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 11 a.m., with visiting the hour prior to the service. Pastor Douglas J. Pretorius will officiate and burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
Although thoughtful, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Jefferson Twp. Bellville Fire Department, through the funeral home.
