Mary Lou Hoke, 90, of Crestline, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at her home after a short illness.
Mary Lou was born in Hamler, Ohio on March 18, 1927 to the late Raymond J. and Elnora E. (Mack) Brubaker. She married J. Harold Hoke on June 14, 1947 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 2010.
Mary Lou retired in 1987 as a bookkeeper after 17 years of service. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline. She was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
Throughout her life, Mary Lou enjoyed walking, reading, and playing golf. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her five children, Karen and Wes Mayer, of Westerville, Connie and Tom Gorman, of Wabash, Indiana, David and Nancy Hoke, of Houston, Texas, Chris Morey and Mick McKay, of Crestline, and Cathy and Mike Stone, of Crestline; her 15 grandchildren; her 20 great-grandchildren; her sister, Bea and Neil Jettinghoff, of Delphos; her brother, Leo and Diane Brubaker, of Naples, Florida; and sisters-in-law, Cleo Brubaker, of Hamler, Luann Metzger, Shelby, Phyllis Hammond, of Sun City, Arizona, brother-in-law, Linus and Betty Hoke, of Ontario.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, David Morey; her brothers, Richard Brubaker, Harold Brubaker, and George Brubaker; and her sister, Teresa Smith.
Friends may call Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 W. Main St., Crestline. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline, with Father Christopher Bohnsack, Celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Crestline.
