Charles P. Picking, 90, of Shelby, died Tuesday June 27, 2017 at Mt. Carmel, St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.
Born May 15, 1927 in Shelby to Dewey A. and Irma E. (Weller) Picking, he was a lifelong Shelby resident. He attended the Columbus School for the Deaf and was a member of the Mansfield Deaf Club. He was a former employee of the Autocall Company.
Charles attended the Shelby Church of the Nazarene and recently the Taylortown Community Church. He enjoyed socializing and visiting with his friends.
Survivors include two granddaughters Mitzi (Tyler) Puckett, of Hillsboro, and Mandy (Clint) Bishop, of Dublin; two great grandsons Gavin and Griffin Puckett; his sister Donna Wondrash, of Shelby and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Eva Picking, his daughter Cathy Kisling, and one brother, Virgil Picking.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Doug Tackett of the Taylortown Community Church will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery.
