ONTARIO – After months of anticipation, Ontario residents have an answer as to when the new IHOP location will open.
The restaurant chain known for its breakfast menu will open Tuesday, June 20 at 2190 Walker Lake Rd., according to franchisee owner, Alex Anthraper.
“We are excited to bring the IHOP brand to the Ontario community and look forward to welcoming guests in to enjoy our delicious, made-to-order breakfast foods, including our world-famous Buttermilk pancakes, along with signature lunch and dinner items, served all day, every day,” said Anthraper, who also operates more locations in Ohio, Oklahoma and Texas.
The International House of Pancakes will open on 1.5 acre plot of land near the Meijer Garden Center and adjacent to the Starbucks at 2172 Walker Lake Rd.
With this new addition to the Ontario landscape, Richland County residents will no longer have to drive to Columbus, Canton or Findley to get their pancake fix.
“A lot of people are excited about them opening up,” said Ontario Mayor Randy Hutchinson. “I think they’ll do very well there.”
The restaurant’s signature blue signage already stands outside the building, while workers continue to train inside. Bold white lettering read “IHOP” with curved red line beneath the final two letters to create a smile.
Anthraper said the restaurant will seat about 160 people and employ about 75 people.
IHOP has about 1,700 locations in all 50 U.S. states and several other countries. The go-to breakfast spot offers more than 14 varieties of pancakes.
