MANSFIELD — Spherion Staffing Services, a local recruiting, staffing and workforce solutions provider backed by the resources of a $2 billion global workforce leader, recently honored Mansfield franchise owner Beth DeLaney with the company’s 2016 Recruiting Excellence Award.
Given for the first time this year, the Spherion Recruiting Excellence Award recognizes the individual owner or ownership team who implements innovative and efficient strategies to connect top local workers with leading employers.
In 2016, DeLaney and her team instituted a multi-faceted approach to broaden their recruiting network across their four Mid-Ohio offices (in Ashland, Mansfield, Orrville and Willard), including extending the Spherion brand through frequent social media engagement while simultaneously growing the company’s presence at regional tradeshows and career fairs.
Additionally, DeLaney’s offices periodically host employee appreciation events to build excitement among partners and candidates, and work with local schools to launch student professional awareness programs.
“As the workforce becomes increasingly competitive, businesses must become more creative to stand out and attract the best workers,” said Sandy Mazur, Spherion Division President. “Beth DeLaney sets the bar in this regard, consistently going above and beyond to build relationships with the area’s top employers and employees and position Spherion as the ideal professional partner.
“We are thrilled to honor Beth and her team with the first ever Spherion Recruiting Excellence Award, and are fully confident that they will enjoy great success moving forward.”
In addition to the Recruiting Excellence Award, DeLaney received the annual Spherion Industrial Sales Growth Award. The award recognizes the individual Spherion owner or ownership team who achieves the greatest year-over-year sales growth in the light industrial skills sector.
Last year, the Spherion of Mid-Ohio teams’ active involvement in all aspects of the sales process, from training through service program development, fueled industrial revenue growth of nearly $4 million.
With operations spanning 10 counties, DeLaney has led Spherion of Mid-Ohio for 16 years. The entire team is heavily involved in local business and community development organizations, including the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the Richland County Foundation and the Richland Community Development Group (RCDG), as well as philanthropic groups such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Harmony House.
